Oretachi Curry Steveston is looking for a energetic, reliable Kitchen Member to join our fast-paced team! As a Kitchen Member, you will play a crucial role in preparing our signature ingredients, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and delivering high-quality comfort food to our guests. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Prep fresh ingredients, portion Japanese short-grain rice, and assist with our signature curry base and stocks. Line Cooking & Frying: Panko-bread and deep-fry katsu (pork, chicken, seafood) to order, ensuring consistent quality, temperature, and presentation. Plating & Assembly: Assemble curry rice plates and cook/plate curry ramen orders accurately and quickly. Kitchen Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station following all food safety guidelines. Dishwashing & Cleaning: Wash cooking equipment, utensils, and dishware; handle closing or opening cleaning checklists. Teamwork: Work closely with front-of-house staff to process dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders smoothly. Qualifications: Previous kitchen or line prep experience in a fast-casual or Japanese restaurant is preferred, but willing to train candidates with a strong work ethic. Basic knife skills and comfort working around commercial fryers and hot equipment. Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure during peak rush hours. FoodSafe Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain before starting). Strong communication skills and a positive team-first attitude. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
