QA & Compliance Specialist

About the Role We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) & Compliance Specialist to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end quality assurance process, including Canadian regulatory label reviews (Health Canada/CFIA), managing third-party co-manufacturers, and ensuring retailer/distributor QA compliance. The ideal candidate has direct experience in the food & beverage with strong knowledge of Canadian regulations. Key Responsibilities 1. Label & Regulatory Compliance Review Canadian Label Review: Review and approve product packaging and labeling to ensure 100% compliance with Health Canada, CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency), SFCR, and Natural Health Products Regulations (e.g., Bilingual requirements, Nutrition Facts Tables, Supplement Facts, Ingredient lists, Allergen declarations, Principal Display Panels). Claims & Regulatory Verification: Review marketing materials, packaging claims, and structure-function claims to mitigate regulatory risks. 2. Manufacturer & Supplier QA Management Co-Manufacturer Oversight: Audit and manage contract manufacturers (CMOs/OEMs) to ensure strict adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP standards. Batch Release & CoA Review: Review Batch Production Records and Certificates of Analysis (CoAs) for raw materials and finished products prior to commercial release. Non-Conformance & CAPA: Investigate product deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints; implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). 3. Retailer & Distributor QA Support Retailer Compliance: Ensure products meet quality guidelines and specifications required by major Canadian retailers Recall & Traceability: Maintain and execute mock recall procedures, product traceability systems, and quality SOPs. Inbound Inspection: Establish quality standards and inspection guidelines for incoming inventory at warehouses/distribution centers. 4. Quality Management System (QMS) Monitor changing Canadian food and health supplement regulations and update internal SOPs accordingly. Participate in internal and external quality audits. Qualifications & Requirements Must-Have Requirements Experience: 3–5+ years of QA experience in the Food & Beverage industry. Canadian Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Health Canada regulations and CFIA / SFCR guidelines. Label Review Competency: Hands-on experience reviewing Canadian packaging labels, bilingual (English/French) layout requirements, ingredient listings, and health claims. Manufacturer & Retailer QA: Proven experience managing contract manufacturers/ vendor audits and handling retailer/distribution channel QA requirements. Education: Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline. Language: Professional English &Korean communication skills (written and verbal) for vendor management, regulatory correspondence, and cross-functional collaboration. Nice-to-Have Requirements Working proficiency in French for bilingual label verification. Experience working with CPG brands or Canadian retail chains.
